My vision is for a sustainable future for our rural and regional communities

RURAL COMMUNITIES THAT ARE ECONOMICALLY & ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE, AS WELL AS PROSPEROUS

A community supported by economic prosperity and environmental sustainability, where we don't lose the opportunity for an individual to have a rural or semi-rural lifestyle, not just for ourselves, but for our children, and their children.

Whether it's a 500 acre farm, or a quarter acre lifestyle block, or a section in a new development, we're working together for the greater good, for both ourselves and the wider community whānau.

A SUSTAINABLE RURAL & REGIONAL ECONOMY THAT CONSIDERS HEALTH, WELL-BEING & ECONOMIC PROSPERITY ALONGSIDE COMMUNITY SUSTAINABILITY

A community where we recognise the environmental impacts that our previous and current practices have created and look positively towards the benefits of change.  I believe we can strike a balance where vibrant, economically prosperous communities support healthy environments, and in turn, create positive places to live and work.

WHY I'M EQUIPPED TO HELP BRING THIS VISION ALIVE

I am a proud dairy farmer and food producer, a business owner, and a committed community participant.  I understand the realities of rural communities in the Waikato region.

I have a committed history of voluntary involvement in community-driven economic, environmental, and primary industry initiatives, both locally and nationally, over the past 17 years.

I'm not just an aspirational idealist, I'm a pragmatist grounded in realistic goals for our region.  I am a business owner that understands the rural perspective and rural communities.

I am also someone that demonstrably has ‘skin in the game’ with my environmental concerns.  As the previous Board Chair of Go Eco for many years, and driver of the development of Kaivolution, the Waikato's first food rescue service, alongside being selected as a member of the Dairy Environmental Leaders Forum, I am committed to positive contribution to regional environmental initiatives.

I believe I am the person with the right balance of established relationships throughout the rural communities in our region to help make this vision a reality.
